Jan and I usually like to hit the Padre island seashore every year. This year, we took The FR3 for a week long beach excursion. Other than having sand in every nook and cranny, we had a great time.
This was our camp spot at Mustang Island State Park. Sand dunes and the Gulf behind us. There was always a nice sea breeze blowing our way, but that did little to keep the mosquitoes away. They were at times unbearable.
This was also the first time we had our Jeep Cherokee on the beach. I really like my 4x4 Jeep.
Of course, we had to find the shrimp as it was coming in off the boats in the morning, but this year, we were not able to find any. So we had to go down to one of the little stores that sells fresh shrimp, and buy from them at a little higher price than right off the boat. In any case, the shrimp was delicious.
This year we also hit the Aquarium that is downtown Corpus Christie. My favorite was the dolphin show. And being that we went in October, the crowds were non-existent. Perfect!
